How can I help JUFC?
We are fuelled by volunteers and always happy to have more helpers on board. Whether you’ve got a specialised skill or trade, or can assist us with the basics of grounds work, merchandise sorting or event coverage - we want to hear from you!
How do I know which age group my child should play in?
Generally, players should register in the group for the age that they are TURNING in the season.
e.g. for the 2026 season:
Ronaldo turns 7 in April 2026; he would register in Miniroos U7,
Lionel turns 10 in December 2026; he would register in Miniroos U10.
When does the season start?
Football Queensland sets the season schedule, with full information for 2026 available here
Can my child play with the same teammates as last year?
We will do our best to accommodate this for teams that would like to remain together. Please ensure that ALL players complete their registration, then forward the requested team list to registrar@jimboombaunitedfc.org.au
My child has other commitments on a Saturday, are they still able to play?
All Miniroos (U6 - U12) fixtures are scheduled on Saturday mornings, meaning that unfortunately this won't work based on that availability.
My child wants to play in the development team, what do we do?
All development squad trials are now complete for 2026, with no remaining positions available.
Can I use a FairPlay/PlayOn! Voucher?
Yes, absolutely! Please apply your PlayOn voucher code during the registration process or email it to registrar@jimboombaunitedfc.org.au once your registration is complete so that we can apply this adjustment.
When is training?
Team training schedules will be created by the committee based on field availability and published at the beginning of the season. Training sessions take place Monday - Friday from 4.30pm onwards.
U6 - U9's train once per week
All Development Teams and MiniRoos U10 and above train twice per week.
Who is our Coach/Manager?
All teams are coached and managed by volunteers. Parents/Aunties/Uncles/ Grandparents - this is your time to shine!
If you have never played or coached before, there are plenty of resources available online to kickstart the season and our club is lucky to have many experienced coaches on hand to share their tips and tricks. You will also be added to a Facebook group where these resources and knowledge is shared amongst all team officials at JUFC.
MiniRoos playing formats/rules can be found at www.footballqueensland.com.au
What else do we need?
At JUFC, all registrations include a Training Shirt which will be available for collection once a payment plan is activated, or registration payment made. Training shirts are bulk ordered prior to the registrations opening and therefore sizes won’t be exact.
Players will need black sports shorts, black football socks, shin guards & soccer boots.
Some of our All Girls teams opt to wear pink socks, which are also available for purchase from our Merch shop.
Playing shirts are provided by the club and will be provided to the Team Manager. They are to be handed out on game day and collected after the game to remain together in the kit bag. Teams can organise a roster for washing shirts throughout the season.
All of these (except the boots) will be available for sale from our Merchandise Store onsite, however you are welcome to purchase these elsewhere as they do not need to have the JUFC logo.
We also have a range of other club merchandise available such as Club Polo Shirts, Winter Gear, Hats, Bags & Umbrellas.

What about the weather?
We don't like to close our fields, but they are an extremely expensive maintenance item for our club which is funded by our members', so it is sometimes necessary to close to fields due to wet weather.
When fields are closed, JUFC will implement the following wet weather procedures:
Game Day:
Fields will be inspected at 7am (4pm for Friday night games) and assess the condition of the grounds. JUFC will post cancellations on our Facebook Page and the Field Status will reflect as 'Closed' on the JUFC website.
JUFC will also advised Football QLD of our closure. Please note that this only applies to home games.
*If you are playing away, please check the away club's website and Facebook pages for wet weather notifications or refer to your Team Manager in the first instance.
Training Days:
We leave the decision to close our fields on training days as late as possible to allow training to proceed as often as we can. We will typically inspect and decide around 4pm each day, however if it is obvious that the fields are going to be closed sooner will we make the call and provide notification earlier.
Sometimes, it is necessary for us to decide on field closures after 4pm due to late storms etc and these circumstances are out of our control.
Training cancellations due to field closure will be reflected on our Facebook Page and via the Field Status on the JUFC website.
