🚧 JUFC Field Inspection & Ground Closure Process ⚽
With the season underway and the weather often unpredictable, we’d like to explain how field inspections and ground closure decisions are made at JUFC.
First and foremost, all JUFC committee members are volunteers who generously give their time to keep the club running. Every committee member also works full-time outside of the club, so while we always aim to make decisions as early as possible, sometimes this simply isn’t possible.
Field Inspections •Grounds are inspected as early as possible when weather may impact play.
•Training cancellations may sometimes be communicated later in the afternoon/evening depending on when inspections can occur and how conditions are developing.
•Weather can change quickly, and we want to give the fields every chance to be playable rather than cancelling prematurely.
Game Day RequirementsFor matches, there is a competition requirement that a decision must be made no later than two hours before kickoff.
We always aim to provide as much notice as possible, understanding that many families travel significant distances. However, we will avoid making calls too early if conditions may improve and allow games to go ahead.
CommunicationAll ground status updates will be communicated via the club’s official social media channels and further shared directly by your Team Officials.
If no update has been posted, please assume that training and games are proceeding as scheduled.
We kindly ask members not to message committee members, coaches, managers, or group chats asking whether fields are open or closed. Responding to individual enquiries takes time away from volunteers who are already working to inspect fields and provide updates to the entire club.
Our goal is always the same as yours - to get as many kids and teams out on the field playing football as possible while keeping our facilities in good condition.
